Our automated check-in in Rödby and Puttgarden will significantly speed up the operational process for your transports and enable your drivers to check in via self-service – no parking, no walking to the ticket counter, no more paperwork. Effective immediately, the automated self-service lanes are available for all booked vehicle lengths, providing drivers with a fast, simple and completely paperless self-service check-in experience directly at the port. In addition the Scandlines Pre-Check-in WebApp provides greater flexibility throughout the transport process.
Requirements for Using Automated Self-Service
The key prerequisite for a smooth and efficient Self-Service check-in experience is an active booking (local as well as transit) made through your valid Scandlines Freight account, including the most complete and accurate transport information possible.
The more precise the booking details are – particularly vehicle registration numbers, trailer information and cargo type – the faster and more efficiently the automated check-in process can be completed.
Providing accurate information in advance helps ensure a seamless flow through the port and enables us to deliver the highest possible level of operational efficiency and service quality.
Exceptions to the Automated Check-in Lanes
Certain types of transport continue to require personal check-in assistance from our service staff. These include:
- Dangerous goods transport (including Limited Quantities)
- Livestock transport
- High & Heavy transport
- Transport requiring an onboard power connection (E-Plug)
Vehicles falling into one of these categories should continue to follow the established manual check-in process after passing through the pre-gate.
This approach ensures that all specific safety, operational and loading requirements are properly managed, enabling the safe, efficient and cargo-appropriate shipment of your transport units.

How to use the self-service
Pre Check-in Web App available in 16 languages
To make the check-in process in Rødby and Puttgarden smoother for transports & drivers, we now offer a Pre Check-in Web App.
Our URL based Web App can easily be accessed and installed as “app-alike” icon on the mobile phone home screen to ensure direct, fast and convenient access to our
driver portal whenever needed. The Scandlines Pre Check-in Web App digitally replaces the old paper-format check-in data that drivers currently have to fill out hand-writtenly in our ticket offices on site. For our ports Rødby and Puttgarden this new Web App will now entitle drivers for all general transports (no hazardous,
no lifestock, no High&Heavy) to fill out the missing vehicle and cargo information on their phones in the Pre Check-in Web App. In the Web App they will receive a barcode that can easily be scanned and fast or even automatically checked-in (all lengths) in our ticket offices in port.
How it works
- Access our WebApp best 2 hours prior to truck entering port Rødby or Puttgarden
- Type in your booking number (S260…)
- Confirm /change your booked departure
or - Add / Specify a required departure to an open booking
- Check / Update / Add information about
- plate numbers back/front
- loading weight (if any)
- kind of cargo / consignment group / empty tour
Multiple Up-dates are possible latest until 15 minutes prior to departure!
- Present the barcode in the ticket office in the ports Rødby and Puttgarden for Quick Scan and smooth Check-in process for transports that require personal
assistance (E-Plug, Lifestock, Dangerous Goods).
